NDC’s Services

All of NDC’s services are designed to carry out our mission of increasing the flow of capital to underserved communities for economic opportunity, job creation, small business development, affordable housing, neighborhood revitalization and general community development.  We provide development assistance, working with our community partners to plan and execute their development strategies, with emphasis on getting the job done, whether it’s an economic development program, a development project or multiple projects.

We help our client communities address the increasing challenges of building public facilities with a public/private partnership model that is unique to NDC through our NDC Housing and Economic Development Corporation.

Our small business lending arm, the Grow America Fund, is the nation’s only SBA-licensed Small Business Lending Company that is owned and operated by a non-profit organization.  We offer participating Community Partners a loan program which can leverage their capital by four to one, and lend to eligible businesses at the lowers possible interest rates and for the longest possible terms.

We finance affordable housing through the NDC Corporate Equity Fund and can act as developer for affordable housing projects in our client communities.

NDC is a leading participant in the Federal New Markets Tax Credit program, with $376,000,000 in tax credit allocations through 2009.  Our 38 projects in 18 states include neighborhood and downtown revitalization, new and expanded industrial enterprises, and cultural, recreation, social service and health care facilities.
