We offer a variety
of training programs all designed to give practitioners the skills
they need to get results in their communities:
The EDFP
Certification Program explores the skills that are essential
to be successful at stimulating economic development. Real world
examples by NDC course instructors are used. Lessons are drawn
from actual projects. You learn through hands-on exercises. You
are presented with projects and challenged to complete them
successfully.
The National Development
Council's EDFP Certification Program is endorsed by the International
Economic Development Council (IEDC) as the primary professional
credential for the economic development finance professional.
For further information on IEDC, visit
www.iedconline.org.
The HDFP
Certification Program and RHDFP
Certification Program focus on developing and financing affordable
housing. Although the courses are demanding, the payoff comes
in enhanced ability and success on the job, as well as a greater
capacity to provide affordable housing for people who need it.
NDC
Academy Training courses are designed as practical “toolbox”
courses for both new and seasoned practitioners as well as certified
EDFPs and HDFPs who want to reinforce previously learned skills.
The NDC Academy provides a special training opportunity for practitioners
who want to learn about new financing tools and get a fresh take
on old ones.
NDC's courses are intense
and rigorous, with as many classroom hours as an average college
course, plus homework and a final examination administered on
the final day of each certification class. You may attend the
courses at your own pace but may not enroll in any course until
you have met all prerequisites.

training courses, please contact the Training Division at (859)
